Modern Moments E-Collection : A Classic Earring Series

The "Modern Moments Earring Collection" is my one of newest collections. These sassy, sleek & modern earrings were designed for the woman who's going somewhere to "make things happen" and "who leaves her mark everywhere she's been." Wear these with your "power suit" to the office, at the soccer game, or a night on the town where ever your "sphere of influence" may be! Visit My Website To View This Collection At:

THE HEAVENLY HEMATITE COLLECTION

My newest collection for the "Fall/Winter Season" is "Heavenly Hematite". It is all about  "beads", one of man's first materials used for adornment, however in this series I've explored a sophisticated minimalist/metalworking techniques in order to execute them. I began using beads in this way when I was in art school studying jewelry/metalsmithing. I often use beads in a "form emphasis" type of manner. I'm enjoying making this collection. SILVER CITY - This weekend's Blues Fest offers more than just music for residents and visitors. Art galleries from downtown to Pinos Altos to Hurley will offer visitors an array of exhibits to choose from.

".................................................................................."

The Hearst Church Gallery in Pinos Altos has recently undergone a redesign to better feature crafts in the display area. In the main gallery, new lighting has been added to spotlight the paintings. The panels separating the art areas were also repainted and gallery props were added and rearranged.
The gallery is operated by the Grant County Art Guild, and the redesign done by area designer Daria Tallman.

Designer Daria Tallman stands in the newly redesigned Hearst Church Gallery in Pinos Altos. The gallery is featuring a weekend of "Meet the Artist," exhibits beginning today and running through Monday. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Courtesy Photo)

This weekend features three "Meet the Artist" exhibits: Judie Jenks on Friday, Awish Baechtle on Saturday and Sunday and Florence Rowell on Monday.
Jenks works with clay and creates pouring vessels such as ewers, jugs and pitchers, inspired by photos of 6th century A.D. Persian wine ewers and other pouring vessels of this period. She has also altered some of these pouring vessels into lanterns for burning candles.
Baechtle is a fiber artist who spins her own wool and makes knitted animals and toys. Baechtle learned to weave from traditional Navajos and then developed her own weaving style. She also knits shawls and shawlettes using her own wool.
Rowell is a painter who paints in oils and pastels and does drawings in charcoal, Conte and pencil, focusing primarily on Southwest scenes. She finds excitement in the beauty of the Southwest, where she has lived all her life, and has taught high school and junior high art classes in Reserve and private classes in Nevada, Texas and all over New Mexico.
Hearst Church Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Monday.
And, at Leyba and Ingalls Arts, an opening reception for a doll show featuring more than 20 different artists will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today.
